My research interests include:
- Geoenvironmental Engineering with emphasis on
landfill engineering, evaluation of the static and
dynamic properties of municipal solid waste,
bioreactor landfills, post-closure development of
landfills;
- Characterization and investigation of the behavior
of organic soils, stiff soils/soft rocks, and other “non-
textbook” soil/rock materials;
- Evaluation/Optimization of ground improvement
techniques
- Geotechnical earthquake engineering, including
seismic response, seismic slope stability and ground
motion selection and modification;
- Information technology management in civil
engineering;
- History of engineering, particularly civil engineering
and geotechnical engineering;
